Teething

Sweet baby Cole is teething. The world knows this now. For the past couple of nights he has woken up SCREAMING, with tears running down his face. Cole is typically a very good sleeper, so this has come as a surprise to both of us. Tylenol seems to work and relax him enough that he eventually falls back to sleep. I feel so bad for him and am doing my best to soothe him. I think that in the past few days I have sung the "ABC" song about 100 times. He does not like any other songs than that and "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". I've tried a Janis Joplin hit or two and some "On the Road Again", but he likes what he likes. So," ABC" and "Head, Shoulders..." from now on.

When I hold him and try to soothe him, I love to feel the texture of his hair. He has a pretty good head of hair now and it is so fluffy and soft. I think that he likes it, too. We wash it almost every night and he usually smells like Mustella. Both the boys smell so good after their baths. I love to hold them and just breathe in their scent. They get snuggly when they are tired and I get to give extra kisses and hugs. I really try to cherish those moments before they get older and don't want that as much. I'm pretty sure though that once in awhile, in the future, we will have those moments again. I just wonder if the future will bring smells of Mustella or smells of whatever they were rolling around in that day.

I still have to pinch myself and realize that they are mine.
