Hard to Believe

I finally have a minute to write. Most blogs I've written lately have said the same thing, but it's quite true.

Cole and Joey are doing great! Joey is on the crawl and has now started pulling himself up to a standing position. He's gaining more confidence in his abilities every day, which means more bumps and falls along the way. We keep reminding ourselves each time that we really need to get around to child-proofing the house. Joey has tested this "child proofing" theory by showing us what babies get into when mom and dad show some weakness. He's fast and getting faster.

Cole is also on the crawl now! He surprised us last week when he sat, independently, then crawled over to his toy. We cheered and clapped for him. He's quite proud, but often forgets that he knows how to crawl. This new skill has come in handy when trying to get to Joey's new discoveries. Cole also uses his crawling to get away from Joey, when Joey crawls over Cole. We're also learning that Cole is quite musical. He truly appreciates rhythmn and loves to make his own beats.

The boys went to their first Gymboree class a few days ago. They LOVED it!!!! Cole loves his teacher and is amazed at her excellent singing voice. Joey likes bubbles, parachutes and staring at other group members. We bought a month membership and hope to return next week. It's a great way to socialize and get some energy out. I also appreciate all the padding on the floor when my boys get a little sloppy on the walking skills. :)

The husband and I are hanging in there. All these changes have worn us out and make us think about all that has happened this past year. For me, most of the trauma is hitting now. Now that I realize the boys are okay, I'm starting to deal with all we've been through. I'm glad I have the support of my husband to get me through this. I will get over what happened, but it's taking time. It helps to see my boys so full of life and growing so healthily. They amaze me each day.

Now, back to planning the birthday party. Yikes.
